I had a fantastic stay at The Dylan Amsterdam! The hotel’s ambiance and luxurious design made everything feel special and comfortable. However, I did encounter some noise from housekeeping in my room, which was a bit distracting. Overall, the really good service from the staff and the quality of food at the on-site restaurant truly made my experience nice.

The Junior Suite I stayed in was beautifully presented, with large windows that overlooked the courtyard. I appreciated the modern bathroom and comfortable bedding, but I did notice some noise from other guests and staff which impacted my sleep quality a bit.
Service

The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, really going above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They helped with recommendations for activities and even walked me to my taxi with an umbrella in the pouring rain, which was so thoughtful!

The hotel’s location is spot on, right on a beautiful canal and close to everything I wanted to explore. I loved being able to walk to local restaurants and attractions easily, making it perfect for my Amsterdam adventure.

The food was excellent, especially the breakfast buffet which had a wide variety of fresh options. I also enjoyed the cocktails at the bar, which provided a great ambiance for relaxing after a day out.
Facilities

The hotel offered a mix of great facilities, including a bar/lounge to unwind in and bicycles for exploring the city. However, I felt that the mini bar prices were a bit steep, so I'd recommend bringing your own snacks.

6.2/10

My stay at The Dylan Amsterdam was quite nice, with the highlights being the really good service and exquisite dining experience. However, I found the room a bit cramped for my taste. While the historic charm of the hotel was appealing, some amenities did not quite meet the expectations one might have for a five-star hotel.

Rooms

The room was beautifully designed but felt small and lacked storage space for my belongings. The bathroom was only functional for one person, which made it challenging during my stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly and proactive. They provided thoughtful touches during my stay, like the lovely champagne and cake for my anniversary. Their local knowledge greatly enhanced my experience in the city.
Location

Dining at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Vinkeles, was a highlight. The presentation and flavor of each dish were perfect, making the experience truly lovely.
Facilities

While the overall facilities were adequate, the limited storage in the room and small elevator detracted from the experience. Moreover, I would have appreciated some complimentary water in the room.

My experience at The Dylan Amsterdam was mostly fantastic, highlighted by the elegant design and attentive staff. The location was perfect for walking around the city, but I did encounter some issues with thin walls and occasional slow service at the bar. Overall, the balance of luxury and comfort made my stay nice.

Breakfast was visually beautiful and delicious, though service took a bit longer than expected due to a computer issue (the food definitely made up for the wait!).

The hotel boasted lovely common areas and a tranquil courtyard where I could unwind (though I did find the bar service to be a bit slow at times).

My stay at The Dylan Amsterdam had its ups and downs. The location was great, placing me near many attractions, and the service was genuinely warm and welcoming. However, the room was smaller than I expected, lacking the luxury feel I anticipated for the price. I also found the breakfast options to be underwhelming. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I felt it didn't fully deliver on the luxury promise. 😕
